The Serenity Project is a volunteer-based program aimed at recruiting womxn from at-risk communities. Womxn in The Serenity Project have strong passions and stories that make them representatives of their various communities. Womxn in the past have come from struggling and traumatic backgrounds including those of foster care, domestic abuse, acid attack survivors, etc. The idea behind The Serenity Project is that womxn with these experiences and backgrounds deserve to be celebrated for their perseverance, and invested in for their future. Women are significantly underrepresented in government and institutions advocating for change, and we believe that women from these communities are in dire need of public speaking, confidence, and platform development skills in order to serve as advocates of their unique experiences.
