Hack The Pandemic was created to help with a problem that we saw an easy solution for, PPE shortages in hospitals. We realized that there are people sitting at home with 3D printers and aren't using them for anything. There was our solution, to utilize the unused printers to create much needed medical supplies. We launched on March 23rd and since then, have grown to over 100 active makers and three distribution and logistics partners. We have benefited from the Larchmont-Mamaroneck STEM alliance's gracious support in being able to purchase parts and filament for our printers. We are currently producing three different items, each requiring a different skill set. At this time we are producing 3D Printed Face Shields, Cloth Face Masks, and Acrylic Intubation Boxes.
