Freemasonry is a family, not just an organization. We call one another, "Brother" which reflects the genuine care that we have for each other. Our Brothers share unique life experiences that build lasting friendships, promote personal learning, and provide service to our communities. In Illinois, our Brothers have a dedication to Commitment and Civility. We have a commitment to the Craft, our Brothers, Families and Friends. Also, we practice Civility which results in keeping this great fraternity on the highest levels of respectability. With more than 60,000 Masons in Illinois, we represent a significant collection of talents, strengths and skills. Our Brothers represent men from various backgrounds including engineers, plumbers, computer programmers, policemen, bankers, military, CEOs, amongst many others. As fathers, sons and husbands, we involve our families in the positive work that we do. Our ability to value and embrace the internal qualities of one another serves our Masonic Family well. You will find Brothers in all parts of the state from small towns to larger cities. Our meeting places are used not only for our events, but for various community, charitable and civic gatherings. In our ancient and honorable fraternity, our Brothers have the freedom to choose their level of engagement with our meetings, activities and events. We provide a supportive environment for learning and the sharing of ideas. Through participation in local lodge and district activities, Brothers are reaping the benefits of these investments by advancing their leadership, management, planning and public speaking skills amongst many others. By delivering a quality Masonic experience to the Brothers, we elevate the value of Masonry in their lives.
