Oxfordshire Youth has more than 70 years experience in providing essential support and guidance, high quality training and networking for a sector of 150+ youth organisations in Oxfordshire. Plus provides life changing experiences for young people in Oxfordshire. Our vision is for all young people in Oxfordshire to be empowered, feel respected and know that they are valued. We invest in developing and sustaining youth provision in the county by:• Providing high quality training, DBS service, networking events, support, advice and guidance to youth organisations.• Upholding the highest standards of safeguarding, ensuring that all members work safely with young people and put their needs at the heart of their provision.• Equipping local communities to work confidently with young people, and to do so in a way that is sustainable.• Providing access to high quality activities and experiences for young people.• Encouraging positive practice around health and wellbeing • Strengthening partnerships with regional and national bodies that share our values.We provide inspiring youth leadership, employability and participation programmes and opportunities for young people by:• Aiming to be youth-led. Our ‘Youth Voice Network' work in lots of ways to influence, design and coordinate the work we do, creating space for young people to genuinely voice and influence. • Facilitating innovative and inspiring ILM accredited Young Leaders programmes • Providing an annual youth leadership eventsSupporting 130 young people in supported housing to overcome obstacles, build confidence and skills and to move into independent living. We believe that development opportunities that are truly participative, help to build the next generation of leaders as strong, competent and resilient individuals.
