Shorefast's mission is to build cultural and economic resilience on Fogo Island, NL. We envision a world where all business is community business. Our immersive experience on Fogo Island has enabled a deeply informed model for place-specific community development where the economy, culture, and the natural environment are strengthened in unison.Shorefast is building best practices for holding on to and strengthening individual communities, while at the same time, reaching out and connecting with others to create a global network of intensely local places.Our goal is to build local capacity through participation and agency at the community-specific level, while at the same time developing tools, networks, and platforms to extend the reach of local initiatives to have global impact.
