The Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation was founded in 2011 by winegrape growers to support farmworkers. We have raised over $6.8 million to support educational and professional development opportunities, reached over 21,000 farmworkers and their families, and provided almost 3,000 hours of education to date. The Napa Valley farmworker community is critical to the success of our industry. Without their dedication, we would not be able to set the standard for world-class viticultural practices and produce wines that are world-renowned. Yet, farmworkers are frequently at a disadvantage, both socially and economically. Through education and opportunity, we are committed to bringing about a different reality – one that supports farmworkers, creating an inclusive industry where they are a part of the team. We want to foster a culture that offers equitable pay, wages and benefits and develop a model for other agricultural regions to follow. And most importantly, we want to change lives for the better.
