Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) is a statutory body under the Information and Communication Technology Division of Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Government of Bangladesh (GOB). BCC is vested with the responsibility to promote ICT and its uses. It was established as National Computer Committee (NCC) in 1983 and then it went through a series of changes to end up as BCC as follows:1. National Computer Committee 19832. National Computer Board 19883. BCC Ordinance 19894. BCC Act 1990Bangladesh Computer Council came into being vide BCC Act 1990 and started functioning as a statutory corporate body under President's Secretariat. Then in 1991 Bangladesh Computer Council was placed under the then Ministry of Science and Technology, then Ministry of Science and ICT, then Ministry of ICT. At present the BCC is working under newly formed Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology.BCC has undertaken the programme called "Conducting Standard Computer Training Course in Divisional Headquarters" in order to expand the use of computer and information technology outside the capital city Dhaka. In view of the above, computer training centers in six divisional headquarters: Chittagong, Rajshahi, Barisal, Khulna, Sylhet & Faridpur (as Dhaka divisional centre) have been established. The project was started from 1999. The Divisional headquarter of BCC was innaugurated on January 2002 and started training on August 2002. Afterwards it is being implemented under revenue budget on 05 October-2009.Now BCC is expanding its training facilities through regional offices with other development & consulting activities and introducing more new industry faced training courses for human resource development.
