ZGiRLS empowers girls in sports ages 11-16 years old to be CONFIDENT, CENTERED, and COURAGEOUS by providing them with supportive mentorship, delivering transformational education, and building an uplifting community. - CONFIDENT - Self-assured, strong sense of self-worth, believe in themselves and their future, appreciative of their body - CENTERED - Emotionally stable/secure, in control, owner of their own fate, composed, mindful, balanced, whole - COURAGEOUS - Ambitious, dream big, resilient, brave, strive for excellence, take their own unique path ZGiRLS envisions a world where girls and women live with ZERO limitations today, so they realize their full potential tomorrow. From media pressure to "mean girls," ZGiRLS acknowledges that girls encounter a wide variety of external limitations. These obstacles are real, but rather than focusing our energy there, ZGiRLS chooses to turn within. ZGiRLS gives girls the tools they need to overcome their own internal limitations––the self-doubt, fear, and insecurity––so that they can navigate adolescence and graduate into adulthood with their confidence, self-worth, and ambition 100% in tact… To live with ZERO limitations! WHAT WE DO: ZGiRLS matches girls in sports with a trained and certified ZGiRLS Mentor (usually collegiate level athlete or better) who serves as a positive role-model, and guides the girls through an empowering curriculum that teaches a wide variety of transformational life-skills from goal-setting and positive self-talk, to body appreciation and stress management. HOW IT WORKS: Any group of "sporty" girls ages 11-16 across the country can start their own ZGiRLS Circle. In September, ZGiRLS sends each Circle a kit of curriculums and pairs the Circle with a certified ZGiRLS Mentor in their area. Circles meet ("huddle") with their Mentor once per month from October through May, progressing through the curriculum with the guidance and support of the nationwide ZGiRLS community.
