Zen Fine Arts Studio was established in Hong Kong in 1957 by Mr. Zen Yu and continues to be a family-run business to this day. Mr. Zen was once a talented artist in a trade painting studio in Guangzhou before the Chinese revolution. With supports from his foreign clients, Mr. Zen started his own business on providing Chinese handpainted wallpaper when he went to Hong Kong. In the past over 50 years, Zen studio has been providing the world's finest handpainted products for the top clientele all over the world. Zen studio moved its business back to China Mainland since 1984. Now it runs in a large studio which is 3,600 square meters and consists of over 100 of well-trained and experienced artists, skilled in painting murals, producing custom screens and lacquer furniture, and museum quality restoration. Zen family passed its craft down through the generations, and the founder's grandson currently runs the business. Handpainted collections include wallpaper, screen, lacquer furniture and fabric.
