The immediate result is a sustainable system that places local food directly onto the tables of local consumers. Our 18-week Winter CSA offers produce, herbs, and value-added organic whole foods to the subscriber from late November onward. In exchange for paying a below market, upfront fee, shareholders receive weekly organic produce. Local organic growers, in turn, are guaranteed that what they grow is already sold. It's a win, win, win situation for a local food entrepreneur, local organic farmers, and local food consumers." "We have all types of people joining the CSA. It's the most direct and sustainable support for a farm, as your share that you hold in those farms is money guaranteed directly to the farmer who knows their food is purchased as they sow the seeds." The 18-week share program is $400 for a weekly variety basket, all local, all organic.There is an additional one-time delivery fee which covers all 18-weeks for pick-ups outside of Saluda. It is a multi-farm CSA, with dedicated growers from local organic and naturally-grown farms in the foothills and mountains of Western North Carolina.Our growers include Oliver Organics, Hendersonville, Broken Oak Organics, Marietta, SC, LEAP Farm, Mill Spring, NC, Legacy Farm, Green Creek, NC, Windy Hill, Greer, SC, and Carolina Organic Growers, a co-operative based in Asheville Your basket will always include a colorful mixture of veggies, and occasionally a "value-added" treat herbs, eggs and such.You will receive a weekly newsletter letting you know what's arriving in your share and offering recipes and nutritional information as well as goings on in the local food movement.
