Intermountain Education Service District has served the children of Eastern Oregon since 1863. The IMESD has approximately 235 employees who serve nearly 23,000 students in 18 component school districts throughout a four-county service areas -- Umatilla, Morrow, Union and Baker counties.The IMESD is one of 19 education service districts in Oregon. ESDs are legislatively mandated to provide four core areas of service to students and schools; Programs for Children with special needs, Instructional support, Technology support and Administrative services.While the IMESD provides excellent service in these four areas, it also provides a multitude of other programs and services to school districts and has developed several regional initiatives through collaboration and braided resources with other regional organizations.
