TC Jewfolk (www.TCJewfolk.com) is the Twin Cities' only independent Jewish news, events and culture online media hub devoted to engaging, informing, and connecting the Twin Cities' local Jewish community. A non-profit entrepreneurial start-up celebrating "a thousand ways to be Jewish," TC Jewfolk is committed to providing readers with wide-ranging entry points for engaging outwardly in Jewish life locally and reflecting inwardly on Jewish identity without being proscriptive about what it means to be Jewish today. TC Jewfolk uses online engagement and storytelling to bring together a spectrum of authentic voices and innovative content to help Jews and those seeking to connect "Jewishly" forge vibrant personal and communal connections to local and global Jewish life. TC Jewfolk is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a part-time Editor, a passionate and dedicated Board of Directors, and a staff of dozens of writers. We are supported by 300+ donors and foundations, and were thrilled to received this year one of Natan/NEXT's 2014 Grants for Social Entrepreneurs. We recently surveyed our readers and the leaders of Twin Cities Jewish organizations about the value TC Jewfolk provides to our community. The 20-39 age group indicated that TC Jewfolk "provides relevant content about things happening in our Jewish community," "is an important source of news and unbiased opinions," "Provides unique and fresh opinions/articles," an "incredible variety of blog articles" with "contributions from anyone with something constructive to say about Jewish life." Our local rabbis and Jewish organizational leaders polled testified that TC Jewfolk "reaches an audience that may not otherwise know about the Twin Cities Jewish community and offers different perspectives of Jewish engagement," "stays ahead of the curve and keeps the community looking forward," and that since "we don't have enough Jewish news outlets in Mpls, TC Jewfolk has filled a vacuum that needed to be filled."
