ACIUCN is an incorporated, not for profit association that provides a forum which brings together in a cooperative and constructive partnership those Australian government agency and non-government organisations who are members of IUCN. The purpose of ACIUCN is to promote and implement within Australia and the Oceania region the IUCN mission to influence, encourage and assist societies throughout the world to conserve the integrity and diversity of nature and to ensure that any use of natural resources is equitable and ecologically sustainable. ACIUCN supports and advances the policies of the global IUCN organisation, but in view of the diversity of its membership, ACIUCN does not pursue advocacy roles but instead supports the activities of members primarily through information sharing and partnership building.
