AAPT was the first Pharmacy Technician Association and we remain a Non-Profit Association. Our Association began in 1979 with volunteer pharmacy technicians and today we are still run by volunteer pharmacy technicians.AAPT continues to serve the interests of ALL pharmacy technicians through our Executive Board, Committees, the National Office and our Chapters. As the role of the pharmacy technician expands, AAPT continues to be an active participant in making decisions which affect changes at all levels of our profession.Mission Statement:-To Provide leadership and represents the interests of its members to the public as well as health care organizations.-To Promote the safe, efficacious, and cost effective dispensing, distribution and use of medications.-To Provide continuing education programs and services to help technicians update their skills to keep pace with changes in pharmacy services.-To Promote pharmacy technicians as an integral part of the patient care team.
