Under Statute Law no.337 enacted on November 3rd 1998, the current organic model was created for the Administração do Porto de Sines, S.A. (or APS, SA). This turned the Public Institute into a wholly public owned PLC, with the role to ensure the exercising of competences needed for the smooth operation of the port of Sines in its multiple facets of an economic, financial and property nature, the staff management and port operation as well as attendant, subsidiary and accessory activities.In line with its strategic plan, the Vision and strategic Mission of Port of Sines are: Vision To be a more efficient and competitive port by taking advantage of its infra-structures and physical and geographical characteristics, thus consolidating itself as a national strategic active, playing an important role within the European and worldwide port context. Mission To assure the fulfilment of the competencies and attributions concerning the planning; update; promotion and regulation of the Port of Sines, always aiming to avail its resources in a rationalised and optimised way, as well as the economic and operational efficiency by complying the safety and environmental requirements – providing satisfaction to its clients and value added on the Iberian and European market.
