Steel columns embedded in the shoreline. The changing tide generates varied sound fields. This sculpture takes the form of a purely modernist aesthetic. It works in tandem with technology partners. It is centered on the creation of an interactive experience. It responds to movement of the tide, sensing how each column stands within the light. It may generate the sound of unexpected wind, or perhaps of children laughing.I have been a painter of large abstract canvases Many times my paintings brought out strong emotional reactions from viewers. This led me to wonder what if an artwork could react and return the viewer's emotions. My response became the design and production of interactive intelligent environments. Each is focused on the creation of a shared experience. Being human centered is at the core of my creative process. Deep empathy for people helps make my sculptural environments powerful sources of inspiration.
