AVSI Foundation is an international non-profit and non-governmental organization, founded in Italy in 1972. With a staff of 2,116 people, AVSI is implementing 355 projects in 42 countries. Its main areas of intervention include education, agriculture and food security, child protection, environment and energy, vocational training, social development, livelihood, urban upgrading, WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene), and healthcare. AVSI works for a world where people are aware of their value and dignity, protagonists of their own integral development. In its interventions, AVSI always considers the contexts and the beneficiary’s community. In 2023, 8,667,441 people have been directly supported through the programs, 1,061,253 of whom come from contexts of war and violence. Among the main donors, AVSI in 2023 could count on the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), the UN Development Programme (UNDP), the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and the World Bank.
