The James Construction Group was originally established by the James family in 2006 as M&L Building Services, successfully operating out of Weipa in regional Queensland providing building, construction and maintenance services to remote and isolated areas in far-north Queensland including Weipa, Aurukun, Lockhart River, the Torres Strait Islands and many more. The tight-knit family business grew over the years, successfully operating within both the private and public sectors, including mine sites, delivering cost effective building solutions to meet the demands of their clients, whilst maintaining an obligation of transparency and excellence towards environmental commitments and personnel work, health and safety. In 2017, as the business had expanded significantly, M&L Building Services became James Construction Queensland (JCQ), employing 20+ direct personnel, including project managers, administrators and trade staff. The dream was always big, and in 2019 James Construction Queensland gave birth to its sister company, James Construction International (JCI), to expand its borders from domestic construction and project management works in regional Queensland to the world stage, employing a specialist team to provide international construction, engineering, project management and logistics services to clients abroad.
