Independent Mineral Standards (IMS) is a leading producer of Certified Reference Materials (CRM) for the global mining industry.Established in Perth, Western Australia in 2012, IMS specialises in the manufacture and certification of coarse and pulverised CRM, for both commercial and in-house (mine) laboratories, as well as for inclusion in exploration quality control programs. CRMs are used to monitor the accuracy of analyses reported by mineral testing laboratories. IMS is internationally recognised for providing 100% impartial, high-quality, affordable standards. IMS is made up of three divisions, each with its own specialisation and market-led focus: Pilbara Standards (PBS) specialises in coarse CRMs specifically for iron ore, bauxite and other bulk commodities - producing a superior level of sample homogeneity. Our unique processing equipment was engineered in-house and can process single batches up to a market-leading 43 tonnes. Lab Standards (LABS) specialises in custom and ‘stock' pulp CRMs for both commercial and in-house mine labs - focusing on gold and other precious, as well as base metals. Matrix Standards (MXS) specialises in matrix-matched, custom reference materials to suit the client's target material (from run of mine to concentrates). It is particularly suitable for mineralogically complex ores. Matrix matched CRMs provide added confidence in the accuracy of laboratory analysis.
