Kawasaki Motors Europe N.V. (KME) is the European head office representing Kawasaki Motors Ltd of Japan, a company which forms part of one of the most versatile and successful Japanese industrial conglomerates in the world, Kawasaki Heavy Industries.The origins of the Kawasaki group of companies began in 1878, when Shozo Kawasaki founded his own shipyard in Tokyo. As the years passed, the company expanded its activities beyond marine into aircraft, rolling stock and large commercial engineering projects. Kawasaki Motors Ltd, began its life as company in October 2021, focusing exclusively on the design and manufacture of motorcycles and stand-alone engines. Best-known by consumers are Kawasaki on and off-road motorcycles, Jet Ski personal watercraft, ATV (All Terrain Vehicles) and MULE (Utility Vehicles). Kawasaki Motors Europe N.V. takes care of the European distribution and marketing – plus sales, training and warranty support – for these products within Europe.The head office of KME is located in Hoofddorp, near Amsterdam and the European distribution centre is in Vianen.
