Houston Yacht Club is a casual, comfortable, social and recreational private club where a community of families and individuals enjoy their own special resort on the waterfront of Galveston Bay. The oldest yacht club in Texas [see Our Heritage], HYC has a reputation for excellence in race management, and hosts two or three national or international regattas a year [see Racing]. It also offers a modern harbor, a spectacular view of the bay and a historic three-story clubhouse complete with a ballroom, dining room and guest rooms. [see Our Clubhouse]HYC offers something for every age. Children and teenagers can race sailboats, celebrate Halloween and Easter on the grounds and hang out with their friends on weekends, all in a protected environment. Adults can dine with their friends, dance to a DJ or band in the clubhouse or party on the docks. The entire family can kayak, raft up in the cove north of our harbor or join other families on cruises to nearby destinations.
