Govanhill Baths Community Trust is a grassroots organisation supported and developed through active involvement by members of the local community. We were established in December 2004 from the Save Our Pool campaign and many of our active members have been involved since the Trust began having first joined the occupation of the pool in 2001.The Trust operates as a Limited Company by Guarantee, a Charitable Trust and a Preservation Trust.We run a wide range of community-based Wellbeing activities and educational and training courses aimed primarily but not exclusively, at people from the G41/G42 postcode. The Trust has a succesful social enterprise project Rags to Riches – a leading Scottish Upcycling project.The Trust in collaboration with statutory and voluntary sector partners offer a Benefits and Debt advice service called Govanhill Baths Advice Centre and various legal, and welfare rights service to community. The Baths building is also home to the Southside Fringe, Romano Lav and Govanhill Theatre.We have an elected board, Trust members (called Friends) and are based at 99 Calder Street, Govanhill (Baths and Head Office)
