American Lutheran Theological Seminary is a confessional Lutheran seminary focusing on the chief article of the Christian faith: justification by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.The source for knowing and proclaiming that is the Bible, God's Word. Therefore, we intensively study that Word for contemporary discipleship, evangelism, apologetics, and equipping the saints. Study of scripture dominates the curriculum in the text of Scripture, in history, in doctrinal formulations, and in practical use.Students at ALTS study and apply the content of a Biblical and confessional Lutheran curriculum to the contemporary American and global context. ALTS uses the mentoring-model of education in a confessing Christian community, to practice Christian love and discipleship (Acts 2), and to train pastors to establish and equip the church to reach and disciple the next generation (Ephesians 4).
