Welcome to the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Our faculty and students are engaged in exciting innovation in the areas of wireless communications, computer systems, software engineering, information processing and systems, micro-and nano-electronics, next-generation internet architectures, cyber security and so much more. The Electrical and Computer Engineering program at Rutgers University is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET.Undergraduate students have the option to pick one of two tracks within the department: electrical engineering or computer engineering. While both tracks require a strong background in electrical engineering basics, they both specialize in distinct fields. Graduate students have four options to pursue advanced degrees: a Masters of Science degree without a thesis, a Masters of Science degree with a thesis, a Masters of Business and Science degree, and a Ph.D. degree. In addition, ECE introduced two new MS certificate programs: Machine Learning for Electrical and Computer Engineers and Cybersecurity in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
