Ardesia, meaning slate, is located in Hell's Kitchen in New York City and takes its influence from the neighborhood's historic past and vibrant present. Our wine list incorporates both time-honored classics and lesser-known selections. We emphasize mineral-driven wines expressive of terrior from all around the world. Our menu was created by Chef Amorette Casaus and includes artisanal cheeses and house-made charcuterie along with wine and beer-friendly snacks such as house-cured duck banh mi and warm homemade pretzels with dipping sauces. Ardesia was designed by architects Mimi Madigan and Aki Ishida. Upon entry, there is a two-story "wall of wine" accessed by a steel and glass structure which evokes both the fire escape and theater catwalk intrinsic to our neighborhood's identity. Our 14-seat bar features a marble bar top made of Paonazzo stone quarried from the canals of Venice. Next to the bar is a cozy lounge lined with plush banquettes. In the warm months we offer seating in our outdoor patio area. It is the perfect refuge from midtown crowds and a tranquil backdrop for an after-work or pre-theater glass of wine.
