Active Voice, LLC was founded in 1983. In 2001 the primary application was purchased by Cisco Systems, and the remainder of the company was purchased by NEC. Between 2001 and 2009 Active Voice operated independently, and in March, 2009 Active Voice became a division of NEC Infrontia, Inc. Active Voice provides unified telecommunication applications for NEC PBX equipment. This includes e-mail, voice mail, and hospitality applications. Both e-mail and voice mail can be read/heard using a phone or an e-mail application.
