A student led Creative Inquiry organization working to bring industry professionals, academic faculty, and students together in an effort to improve the living conditions of the people in the island nation of Dominica.ENGAGE (Educating a New Generation to Advance Global Engagement) is based around Clemson University's Archbold Tropical Research Center outside Dominica's capital city, Rouseau, and is developing projects across the island. Tropical Storm Erika set the island nation back two decades when it came through in 2015, and it is our mission to help their communities recover in whatever ways we are able. Our projects include road and bridge revival throughout the nation, an emergency evacuation pier in the coastal village of Soufrière, medical partnerships with primary care clinics, community outreach and vocational education, and proper water sanitation and waste removal to prevent the spread of sickness and environmental destruction.
