VisionA Holistically restored community with indigenous leadership fully engaged in the process of community development. This would result in improved quality of life areas such as educational success, comprehensive systems supporting children and youth, positive peer groups, strong families, and people living in emotional and spiritual health.MissionThe mission of Lighthouse, Inc. is to build meaningful and lasting relationships with children and their families in Cleveland's central area that equip and empower them with the resources and opportunities to break the cycle of poverty. Additionally the organization is committed to developing leaders and establishing partnerships to holistically restore the community.HeaventrainWhen transportation is a problem, Heaventrain takes the church to the people. Heaventrain averages 1,200 children, teens, and adults each Saturday. Heaventrain has been reaching out to 6 of Cleveland's central neighborhood's for 28 years. We average 15 services each Saturday. The StorehouseThe storehouse is not a building, it is an idea that in order to better serve our community we need to get the resources into the hands of the people. We have a network of volunteers in the community who deliver and distribute the resources. In 2006 Lighthouse, Inc. partnered with 10 neighborhoods to distribute 24,0000 cases of food with 9,000 volunteer hours on $20,000.Reality CheckIs it time for a reality check? Have you ever wondered what it means to put your faith into action? Are you searching for meaning and purpose? Do you want to make a measurable difference with your life? Jesus has called us to be active in our service. In that action He is able to change our view of the world we live in. Reality check is a way to gain perspective on our life, our faith, and our ability to make a difference. We have limited space for 2009.
