The TAS Foundation - Work, Assistance and Overcoming Barriers - is a non-profit organisation created in 2002 with an explicit objective: improving the living standards of every person with disabilities and that of their families in rural settings.Since its beginnings the Foundation has experienced great growth in terms of structure, scope of action and provision of assistential services . Nowadays, our services have been well-configured in order to assist people with disabilities in all developmental stages, thus in each municipality we assist children and youth up to 30 years of age. From the age of 16, and subject to the degree and type of disability and family preferences, the service users can be assisted as well in other strategic service's providers located in the area:Early Care CentresTAS Centres: Comprehensive care for children and youth with disabilitiesDay-care unit with Occupational therapyDay-care unit without Occupational therapyTransition to adulthood programmesLabour integration programmeTraining and coordination programme for volunteersEquine therapiesWe have support and monitoring centres for the education and rehabilitation of children and young people carried out by professionals in the fields of psychology, pedagogy, physiotherapy, and social work, as well as assistants and trained volunteers. Our goal is to give quality service and contribute positively to society.
