Core Lithium (ASX: CXO) is a South Australia-based emerging lithium producer which wholly owns the Finniss lithium project just south of Darwin port in the Northern Territory. Core Exploration has also historically explored for copper and base metals across its portfolio of assets in South Australia. The Finniss Project lies within one of the most prospective areas for lithium in the NT, and shares similar qualities to that of Talison Lithium's Greenbushes mine in the south-west of Western Australia. The Finniss Project area covers over 200 square kilometres and 25 historic pegmatite mines including the Bynoe pegmatite field and the Mount Finniss tin-tantalum mine.Core Lithium is actively exploring the Finniss Project area, where the strong endowment of tin and tantalum in pegmatites suggests good potential for economic lithium mineralisation.
