Serving not only University of Kentucky students, faculty and staff, but also visitors from all across the Commonwealth of Kentucky and researchers worldwide, UK Libraries is home to a vast selection of materials, collections and information resources (both physical and electronic) and an esteemed faculty and staff with a wide range of expertise in such areas as discovery systems and information technology, special collections and preservation, information literacy and reference help, research data management and digital technologies. UK Libraries' eight major facilities are central to the teaching, learning and research mission of the University of Kentucky. The library system includes the William T. Young Library, Design Library, Education Library, Lucille Caudill Little Fine Arts Library, Medical Center Library, Law Library, Science and Engineering Library and the Special Collections Research Center. UK Libraries also manages the Lexmark Library. University of Kentucky Libraries employs over two hundred faculty, staff and students across campus, with temporary positions also becoming available throughout the year. UK Libraries employs the second highest number of student workers on UK's campus. The library system also offers four paid selective internships to UK undergraduate students each year.
