Pittsburgh DataWorks is a consortium of Pittsburgh-based private companies( who are either providers or users) of Big Data tools and technologies, research universities, economic development organizations, investment community leaders, and local and state government representatives who collectively seek to establish Pittsburgh as a "Big Data Savvy" city ready to participate in the economic opportunities presented by the growth in this space. A successful DataWorks will help develop the big data workforce, encourage investment in big data projects and enterprises, and generate breakthrough applications, funding, and publicity for the Pittsburgh region.
