The Iron Works is a chef owned, family-friendly casual restaurant serving comfort food and BBQ. Take to-go or enjoy in our outdoor seating area. After 30 years in the food service industry Keith relocated from Florida to Upstate New York to join forces with his brother Howard. Howard has been involved in the KCBS BBQ competition circuit years and always dreamed of opening a restaurant. After putting together a business plan and convincing his brother to relocate they were ready. In February of 2020, The LLC was formed and the lease was signed. In March 2020 the country was placed into a lock down and the restaurant was put on hold. July of 2020 the soft opening was announced and due to many Covid19 Related issues the brothers ran the operation out of the Competition BBQ trailer which they continued to finish the restaurant. The product they had seemed to be a hit Only 2 months after opening they were rated as the Best Ribs By 518-Foodies and came in 3rd best BBQ overall by the same group. The brothers goal and Vision for the restaurant is a place that their Maternal Grandfather - a Chef & Butcher who immigrated from Germany during the war with his wife and daughters and their Paternal Grandmother a Widow who raised 2 boys from 10 and 13 to adulthood while running the family business alone. Would be proud of. Our business must feed the hunger of the community but also become part of the fabric of the community.
