i-Grape Laboratory S.L. is a spin-off from the University of Santiago de Compostela with a patented technology to obtain natural bioactive extracts from waste and/or by-products generated in the agricultural and/or food industry, using proprietary technology characterized by its efficiency both for the energy consumption (room temperature and atmospheric pressure) and its performance obtaining high polyphenol concentrated extracts.Natural bioactive extracts obtained have antibacterial, antioxidant, radical scavenging, fungicide and uv protection properties, and good antiviral potential. As biobased extracts from non-food sources is an ideal and affordable solution to replace fossil sources and thus a natural alternative to non-sustainable ingredients still used in industries such as food&feed, veterinary, phytosanitary, pharmaceutical, etc.In addition, the exhausted feedstock after the extraction is treated in with a patented vermireactor technology to get a vermicompost with a high water-holding capacity, microbiologically active, high content of humic substances and nutrients, well-established bacterial and fungal communities, and large load of extracellular enzymes.
