In July 1998, PBI., started its pilot production with the Oxide System, Paste Mixer and the Assembly Line. Through the years, PBI continued to expand its capabilities with operations of Continuous Lead Strip, Plate Expander, Plastic Injection and the Charging Line that completed its full battery-making lines. PBI attained the Q-Mark Certification of the Bureau of Product Standards.PBI started the totally sealed Maintenance Free Battery. The tropicalized-design battery was launched in the local market. PBI certification to ISO/TS 16949:2002 version was attained. At present, Philippine Batteries, Inc., is the largest, most fully integrated, and technologically advanced battery manufacturer in Asia. PBI operates a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant housed in a 5 hectare covered area inside an 18-hectare high-tech industrial complex, which has the potential to produce 720,000 battery units per month. It is the latest facility of Ramcar Group involved in the production of lead-acid storage batteries. PBI holds 80% of the local market share for automotive and industrial batteries.
