Marakame is a brand that aims to merge art, design and culture in a creative and unique way through original pieces of art. It's a project that spreads and commercializes art pieces from the Huichol indigenous people elaborated by different families from the rural communities in the Mexican Sierra Madre Mountains. Among them are De la Cruz Bautista, Carrillo Lopez, De la Cruz Lopez, Parra Lopez, and others. It's a Marcela Abarca and visual artist Fernando Motilla's idea. When Fernando commissioned some projects of his own to this beads and yarn masters, both of them found their work, the colors, the precision and the mystic symbology through which they tell their own story, their own conception of the universe in each of their pieces, fascinating.We have been selling and exporting the huichol art for more than 5 years from Morelia, Michoacán, México.
