Welcome The Koryu Bugei Hozon Kenkyukai and its members are dedicated to the research and preservation of the culrture and martial arts of the Orient, especially Japan, Okinawa, and the other islands of the Ryukyu Island Chain. There are many arts represented by the association and members of the association have opportunities to train in the represented arts. However, no one art is placed above another. We do not preserve indiviual schools, rather, we are a collection of techniques, methods, and philosphies from all schools for there is no style only BU. Purpose of the Koryu Bugei Hozon Kenkyukai 1. To preserve the culture and martial arts of Japan, Okinawa, and the other islands of the Ryukyu Island chain. 2. To research the culture and martial arts of Japan, Okinawa, and the other islands of the Ryukyu Island chain. 3. To attract the next generation of koryu bushi (old school warriors) to carry on these traditions. 4. To prefect ourselves and our martial ability.
