The Society of Financial Examiners is a professional society for examiners of insurance companies. We have a membership of over 1,700 representing 50 states, the District of Columbia, and other territories and possessions of the United States. SOFE is the one organization where financial examiners and analyst come together for training and to share and exchange information on a formal and informal level. The Society is ruled by a Board of Governors, the Executive Committee and the State Chairs with assistance from Headquarters. The Board of Governors may consist of up to 50 members who may have supervision, control, and direction of the general policies and affairs of the Society, its committees and publications, and actively promotes its objectives. The Board may adopt motions and regulations for the conduct of its business and may grant or delegate any or all of its authority to the Executive Committee to act on its behalf in the interim between meetings of the Board.
