The Shepherd's Center of Greater Winston-Salem is an interfaith ministry that promotes and supports successful aging by providing direct services, volunteer opportunities, and enrichment programs for older adults.\A volunteer-centered agency, Shepherd Center volunteers could: \• Provide free labor for minor home repairs such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and various types of yard work in an older adult's home. OR \• Provide 1-2 hours per week to visit a homebound older adult or to give the primary caregiver of a homebound older adult some time off. OR\• Provide transportation for older adults to medical appointments or shopping at a local grocery store in Winston-Salem. OR\• Staff a booth at local health and information fairs to pass out information about the Shepherd's Center and answer questions regarding the programs. OR \• Assist with the setup and registration for our bi-annual event, Adventures in Learning, that takes place in the spring and fall. OR \• Lead or assist students in our Beginners, Intermediate, and Advanced Computer Classes for Seniors. OR \• Lead or assist activities in our Active Seniors program. OR\• Assist with our annual Book Sale setup, cashiering, book arrangement, and clean up after the event.
