Deputy Director at National Anti-Vivisection Society (NAVS) - , Illinois, United States
Since our founding in 1929, the National Anti-Vivisection Society (NAVS) has pursued the goal of bringing an end to the needless suffering and exploitation of animals used in the name of science. For more than 85 years, NAVS has developed educational programs that present compelling evidence that using animals as models for humans in the laboratory and classroom is both morally unacceptable and scientifically flawed, while identifying humane alternatives and practical solutions that advance science without harming animals. These efforts include programs that: * educate the general public. * assist students and teachers with humane science education, * advance innovative scientific initiatives, * promote greater protection for animals through legal and legislative efforts* foster cooperative efforts, and * assist animals in emergency situations. The National Anti-Vivisection Society is a 501(c)(3) organization incorporated in the State of Illinois.
