Productions Nuits d'Afrique is a non-profit organization created in 1987 by the founding president Lamine Touré (appointed ‘'Chevalier de l'Ordre national du Québec'' in 2013) and Suzanne Rouseau, co-founder and CEO. Our mission is to showcase, promote and develop world music on a local, national and international level.True pioneers in the field of World Music in Quebec for 31 years, Productions Nuits d'Afrique were the first to present, throughout the years, internationally renowned artists such as Tiken jah Fakoly, Miriam Makeba, Papa Wemba, Fémi Kuti, Angélique Kidjo, Skatalites ... With a smart ears, the festival also presents a wide selection of revelation artists such as Hindi Zahra, Inna Modja, Yael Naim, Dub Incorporation... . Located in Montreal, a city of music, the festival works closely with artists from the local music stage and is never tired of letting a growing public discover the incredible diversity of styles and music from here .These years of experience make Productions Nuits d'Afrique and the festival, THE event in terms of world music in Canada. Nuits d'afrique is an extraordinary opening to the world for over 30 years.In addition to presenting its flagship event in the summer, the FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL NUITS D'AFRIQUE, the yearly programming of Productions Nuits d'Afrique also puts forward the ‘'Festival de Musique du Maghreb'' (25th edition), the ‘'Syli d'Or de la Musique du Monde'' (11th edition), the first official awards exclusively honouring Canadian world music artists, a cultural showcase for wide distribution, a real step for artists of all diversities!
