Young Manchester is an independent, city wide Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) being set up to develop a new way of working to support Youth and Play services for children and young people across Manchester, by working with partner agencies to commission work at a local level.In an era of cutbacks, Young Manchester aims to provide children and young people in communities across the city with increased opportunities in all aspects of their life by commissioning projects that respond to their ever-changing needs and building on the existing work of Manchester City Council and experienced providers across the city.Young Manchester provides a unique opening to increase investment, raise quality and engage in wider collaborative working across a broad range of sectors for the benefit of children and young people. The work of the charity is linked strategically to the ‘Our Manchester' strategy and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, and the charity recognises the vital role it will play in ensuring Manchester as a city is the best it can be.
