The Harvard Museums of Science & Culture (HMSC) is part of Harvard University and is comprised of four museums: the Collection of Historical Scientific Instruments, the Harvard Museum of Natural History, the Harvard Semitic Museum, and the Peabody Museum of Archeology & Ethnology. HMSC offers lectures and programing for all ages, permanent galleries, and dynamic rotating exhibits. Permanent highlights include a 42-foot-long Kronosaurus, the world-renowned Glass Flowers, massive Maya and Egyptian monuments, and an extensive collection of scientific instruments, both ancient and modern.HistoryThe Harvard Museums of Science & Culture (HMSC) partnership officially began on July 1, 2012, with the goal of developing a strong, coordinated public face for the four museums that are within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University.MissionThe mission of the Harvard Museums of Science & Culture (HMSC) is to foster curiosity and a spirit of discovery in visitors of all ages, enhancing public understanding of and appreciation for the natural world, science, and human cultures.
