The Tour for Diversity in Medicine (T4D), a project conceived by former medical student leaders, seeks to bring premedical enrichment activities to underrepresented minority undergraduate students at campuses across the U.S. Amongst academic and political circles, there is a nationally recognized need for the diversification of the health professions workforce. In 2009, U.S. Surgeon General Regina Benjamin, MD described this need most succinctly: "Unless the current trend is reversed, our country will see a growing ethnic and racial disconnect between those who receive care and those who provide that care."The Tour for Diversity in Medicine was created with this in mind...
