The University Writing Center, a unit of the Department of Rhetoric and Writing, helps University of Texas students become more proficient, more versatile, and more confident in their writing abilities. We offer one-on-one writing consultations to both undergraduate and graduate students. Additionally, we provide a host of other services including workshops and writing groups, as well as opportunities to work with our in-house, peer-reviewed journal Praxis and our Presentations team. Our writing consultants develop a variety of skills in addition to their writing expertise that make them highly competitive in the job market. These include analytical thinking, problem solving, time management, communication, and more (see our list of specialties below!).
