MECCA (the Materials Exchange Center for Community Arts) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization in Eugene, Oregon that diverts useful materials from the land fill into the creative endeavors of the Eugene community. We provide access to high-quality, low-cost arts programming in an inclusive environment that enhances the cultural life of Lane County. To do this, we partner with several other organizations in Oregon including the Oregon Arts Commission, SELCO Community Credit Union, Lane Arts Council, Bring Recycling, NextStep Recycling, and the Eugene Storefront Art Project.\\As part of our mission, we offer affordable workshops, classes, and open studio time for families, children, seniors, and art-enthusiasts. Our Teacher Resource Program provides free craft supplies and lesson plans for K-12 teachers in need of course materials. \\We also operate as a thrift store for fun recycled arts and crafts materials. We collect these items from Lane County businesses, artists, and individuals; then we sort them and sell them at low, affordable prices.
