Kate Bathon Shufeldt is the founder and principal consultant of Thrive Nonprofit Solutions. She founded Thrive after working in nonprofit, for-profit, and governmental agencies in Indiana, Missouri, Michigan, and Arkansas. She started Thrive to help organizations improve the vital services being utilized by those most in need. She obtained a Master in Social Work from Saint Louis University and a Master in Public Administration from Indiana University South Bend. This dual focus gives her special insight to take into account the entire organization and build on the strengths of its resources and staff. Her academic and professional experience allows her to have interests that span across a diverse set of clients and services including: juvenile justice, after-school programs, primary and secondary education, child welfare, intimate partner violence, substance abuse prevention, and youth mentoring. Within these areas of interest, Kate has enjoyed working with organizations on a variety of projects. She has experience planning services, obtaining funding, promoting services, and evaluating programming. Kate has worked with several organizations on strategically planning program expansions, improving governance and policies, and leadership transitioning. She has also proved to be a successful fundraiser and grant writer, having helped obtain over $2.9 million in grants and government contracts for a variety of programs and clients.
