The Czech Social Security Administration is the largest financial organization of the Czech public administration with annual income and expenses of almost CZK 700 billion. As part of the public administration, the CSSA falls under the Czech Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. The CSSA contributes more than a third to the national budget by collecting social security premiums and contributions to the state employment policy. It covers social security issues for almost 8 million clients. The Director General of the CSSA is nominated by the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs. Currently this position is held by Dr. Božena Michálková.
