Our story is one of growth and change. Since the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware opened its doors with 17 guest rooms in 1991, the "home-away-from-home" has grown to meet the needs of the families and the statewide community with 50 guest rooms. Not only does the House serve and support families while their children are receiving treatment for serious or chronic illnesses at area hospitals, we offer three Ronald McDonald Family Rooms located at Christiana Care, Bayhealth Kent General Hospital, and Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children.The primary funding to support the operations and growth of this facility is provided by those communities served by the House- individuals, corporations, foundations, and civic groups.House Features and Amenities-50 guest rooms-9 handicapped-accessible rooms-Private bath-In-room telephone with voicemail-In-room television-Spacious living rooms-Small theater-Sunroom-Large Dining Room-Kitchen with self-service stations and family storage areas-Hot evening meals-Weekly activities including pet therapy-Family computers with internet access-Fitness center-Teen room-Hair Salon-Children's playrooms-Laundry facilities-Library
