Established through the vision, commitment and passion of the West of Wokingham Parent Group, Oakbank School is backed by a supportive community, local organisations and the outstanding educational expertise of Anthem Schools Trust. All of these groups have a stake in making the school the best it can be.As an inclusive, non-faith school serving the local communities, Oakbank strives to provide excellent local secondary education as well as a centre for wider community activities. As a free school, Oakbank is funded directly by central government and run separately from the local authority. It broadly follows the national curriculum and, like any other school, is inspected by Ofsted. The school opened in September 2012 and has grown organically with a four form entry each year to over 400 students.Oakbank values every student as an individual; we support them to fulfil their academic potential and to grow into independent and confident young adults. Students at Oakbank continue the friendships formed throughout their primary years in a safe, caring and happy environment and have the opportunity to form new friendships with young people from the local area.
